I've been making these photographs since January 2021, and the people I've met & the things I've learned and experienced through this project have changed my life forever. I'm deeply grateful to all of them, especially Dr. Wendsler Nosie Sr, who brought me into the community and continues to provide invaluable help along the way, including reviewing all application materials before they were submitted.

With the Apache Stronghold's request for a preliminary injunction to protect Oak Flat against the United States now headed to the Supreme Court, I'm grateful for any added visibility on the issue brought by this elevation of the photographs. The precedents set by their fight for Oak Flat will reverberate throughout the country. People from all walks of life are joining the movement, uniting for the common cause of religious freedom and environmental protection.
